I’m Mark Carpenter, a Virginia Beach–based filmmaker and editor creating cinematic work for brands, agencies, and productions.
I began my film journey in California, first crafting story-driven videos for small businesses and growing into reality television, where I learned how to work fast, collaborate on high-pressure timelines, and shape real-life moments into compelling stories. My work has supported projects that reached the Netflix Top 10, sharpening both my editorial instincts and my standards for professional delivery.
Today I still edit remotely across a variety of projects, but I’ve missed being on set and creating work in my own community again.
Now based in Virginia Beach, I’m rebuilding that by offering cinematic videos for businesses that want to feel warm, welcoming, and rooted in community rather than corporate. My approach blends documentary-style storytelling with polished production. The goal is always the same: make something that looks elevated, but feels real, work that invites people in instead of selling at them.
I spend time with your team and environment to capture what can’t be faked: the rhythm of a space, behind-the-scenes routines, subtle interactions, and the details that make your brand feel alive. Then I shape it into a finished film with intentional visuals, clean sound, and editing designed to hold attention.
